Bollards
Mooring facilities include edge bollards, mooring hooks,
recessed bollards (for reinforced concrete walls), dolphin
bollards, mooring rings, etc. All these items must be designed
in such a way that they are easy to repair or replace.
Bollards along the top edge of the quay wall can be provided in the
form of single or double bollards depending on the line pull. They are
made from high-quality grey cast iron or cast steel, with fixings made
from grade S 355 J2 +N or 8.8. They can either be mounted on the
top of a steel capping beam or anchored in a concrete foundation
behind the beam. Depending on the design, they may need to be
anchored back into the ground.
